What if the secret to the health of land lies hidden in a humble pair of decomposing underpants?

This fun and interactive workshop invites farmers and land managers to think, discuss, and explore what a healthy soil actually is – and how views might differ depending on your relationship with it.

The workshop is based on a pilot project investigating whether soil can serve as a simple, comparative indicator of ecological health across different land management approaches. It forms part of a wider three-year exploration of land use in Scotland by bike and on foot. For more, visit www.exploring.place 

Ted Leeming is a place based photographer exploring issues around the fragile beauty of the natural world and human interactions therein.  I am currently focussed on land use and the tensions, competitions, harmonies and balance (or lack thereof) between biodiversity, community, climate, society, and commercial  narratives, as I ask myself how art and photography might catalyse the radical thinking needed to confront climate & biodiversity collapse.

This is an event organised by Upper Forth Farmer Land Manager Network, a network for farmers working in the Upper Forth area, who wish to connect and collaborate with the aim of developing a more sustainable and resilient farming community. In association with the Stirling Photography Festival.
