Managing land for nature, water and climate.

What Works, Why It Matters, and How You Can Contribute

Farmers and land managers across Scotland are increasingly hearing about managing land for nature, water, and climate but what does it actually mean? This webinar will unpack the terminology often used in Scotland’s agricultural landscape and explore the different measures that can support biodiversity, improve water quality, and contribute to climate resilience.

We’ll look at what these approaches involve, why they are being encouraged, and how they can be implemented on farms and estates. Just as importantly, we’ll also discuss the challenges ‘why not’ and the practical barriers that land managers face.

The session will also introduce a new survey inviting farmers and land managers across the Forth basin to share their experiences, helping us better understand the barriers and enablers to adopting these measures. Your input will help identify how policies and practices can better integrate nature and water management, leading to more sustainable farming action in the Forth Basin.
